Girl of the Year Generator

Wow! It has been an awful long time since there’s been a post here on Me and My Gals. I hope this one makes up for the absence. So without further ado, here is the long awaited Girl of the Year Generator!

Girl of the Year Generator Part 1

Girl of the Year Generator Part 2(If you need to see better, click on the photo). Here’s how it works. The first letter of your first name corresponds with your Girl’s first name. Same with the final letter of your last name, it corresponds with her last name. In the second part, you discover her story. Your birth month coincides with the main conflict or issue in the Girl of the Year’s story. Finally her interest corresponds with the date you were born on. For example, here is my Girl of the Year:

Lizzy Jackson is a aerialist coping with Dyslexia.

What did you get? If you had your choice, what would your ideal Girl of the Year be?

The Liebster Award

My very first blog award!!!! Thank you to Xyra, of Tea Time with Melody Q for nominating me for the Liebster Award. Now, as I *hopefully* understand, I am to answer the “favorites” questions Xyra asked, nominate more people and come up with questions. Are you ready to get some answers? FYI: the formatting is going haywire, and I don’t have the patience to figure it out today. sorry.

Girl of the Year? Excluding Chrissa, who I own, I’d say Kanani. A long time ago, I was obsessed with Hawaii and would have freaked out if I heard there was a Hawaiian doll. Plus, her hair’s awesome.

Historical Character? Again, discounting my historical gals, I’d say Rebecca. Her time and place is so different from my own and she has such pretty dresses (I’m talking to you, and you, and you)

Snack food? I am a sucker for cheese cubes, even though I am horrible at guessing which one the plate is not swiss. I’m not a big fan of swiss cheese!
Dinner? Pad See Ew; a very yummy Thai noodle dish with chicken and vegetables. Look it up!
Beverage? Sprite!
Dessert? Chocolate cake, yummmmm!
Writing implement (pen, pencil, etc.)? My purple fountain pen or a keyboard and Word.
Flower? Irises. They’re elegant, graceful, beautiful and purple, which are all things I strive to be.
Disney character? I identify with Elsa quite a bit.
Book? Hard one. I love the interwoven details in the Harry Potter series, the unsettling ignorance of the Giver series, and the relaxing cheerfulness of The Penderwicks books.
TV Show? “It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, it’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight!”
Thank you so much for the fabulous questions, Xyra. Now I shall nominate some of my favorite blogs
Now before mentioned sites, your mission is to post the award on your blog with a link back to the one who nominated you, answer the questions, nominate your favorite blogs, and create new questions for your nominees. Here are your interrogative questions.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or future? To what time period?
What crazy color would you dye your hair?
Which day of the week is your favorite?
What is the story behind your blog name?
Sweet or savory?
Pastel colors or bright colors?
The sciences or the arts?
and finally, what is the meaning of life?
Thank you again to Xyra, of Tea Time with Melody Q for nominating me.

Q & A: The Answers

Thank you for your questions. Now I shall answer them for the A part of Q&A!

This is most of my doll’s clothes. Yeah. I’m not very organized

First, from RW: How many doll outfits do you have total? How many shoes?

I have quite a few outfits, but recently I have not been buying things from American Girl, because I can sew 83% of them. I have about 11 pairs of doll shoes. My favorite pair is the ones that Chrissa came with, which were, coincidentally, the first pair I ever owned.

From Dad: Who is your favorite parent?

Well. This is a loaded question. Because of your narcissism, I will say Mom. But a doll and $1900 would pull you ahead.

What is your favorite activity?

I like blogging (obviously), surfing the internet, reading, doing modern dance, sewing, and messing around with my dolls.

From Melody Q; What is your favorite book? and movie?

Good ones, Melody. I’m not really a movie person, but if I had to choose, it would be The Sound of Music. Harry Potter, the Penderwicks, and random humor books are my favorite.

What is your favorite vegetable? and dessert?

Corn and snap peas. I love our homemade triple chocolate layer cake, ice cream, and flourless chocolate tortes. I’m hungry now!

From Christian Homeschooler: Does my user name apply to you?

Technically yes, but I wouldn’t call them my defining features.

She shall be mine!

She shall be mine!

Do you want another AG doll? If so, which one?

Yes, I would like another doll. I have my eye on My American Girl #46. Her curly hair is sooo cute and my Gals are lacking on diversity.

What are your thoughts on the GOTY of 2014, Isabelle?

She doesn’t catch my eye. But since I dance, hopefully she will have some nice, non sewable outfits. Of course I will still read her book, etc. but I probably won’t get her.

And last but not least, Doll-ightful Days: Which doll do you like best (relatively)?

I like Caroline the best, because she’s kind of my alter ego. If I was brave enough and I didn’t have to be “grown up”, I would act exactly like her.

What made you want to start a blog?

I stalked blogs, like American Girl Fan, and Doll Diaries for a few years, without commenting or anything. Then one summer, my mom said that for a project, we should make a blog. Me and My Gals was born!

What’s your favorite part of blogging?

I would say my favorite parts are seeing your comments, thinking up ideas for photostories, and sharing my dolls lives with you.

Thank you all for submitting questions for and reading the first Me and My Gals Q & A. Now I have a question for you. How did you find my blog?

Q & A!!!!!!!!!

Would you like to know more about the Me and My Gals gang? Do you have and “burning questions” for me? Well look no further! The official Me and My Gals Q & A post is here. Type a couple questions in the comments for me or one of my dolls, by next Saturday and I will answer it (of course if you ask “what is your phone number” or “what is your favorite curse word” I won’t respond). I can’t wait to see your questions! Ready….set……..type!
